Battle Report and Game Review – Okum Arts’ Zombie Ruckus

So a few months back I participated in the Save the Day Kick-Starter because:

1) I love Super Heroes and needed a simple rule-set if I wanted to play (Champions is too complicated for some of players)

2) I wanted a game that could serve as a Gateway for my son when he’s a little older, so I could share my hobby with him

3) I only had a small handful of HeroClix to go with my Mage-Knight minis I converted for DnD, and one of the pledge levels gave access to a BUNCH of minis 😀

At any rate, during my time of corresponding with the game’s creator David Okum, I mentioned I wanted to use the rules for a Zombie Apocalypse themed game for Halloween. I think this inspired him to create his paper minis and rule-set – Armageddon Outta Here: Zombie Ruckus. Even if I wasn’t the source of inspiration, it’s still freakin’ awesome!

Bonus Post – More Craftwar Competition

Wow, the competition is heating up! I know have two most worthy opponents to face off against in the Miniatures Competition. I would have entered the Terrain Competition as well, but have been busy with my Zombie City paper minis (will post review when I have the final touches up!)

At any rate, here is Pebebe‘s Water Weird tutorial, which can be found on his site.

Got a response from Paper Make It (well, sort of)

About a month ago I posted a review of Paper Make It’s City Streets set.

Apparently someone got my message loud and clear, because hiding in my junk folder was an announcement that City Streets 02 and 04 had been updated to connect to sets 01 and 02 respectively. Here are copies of that email:

Dear Gamer,
City Map 2 has been updated with a useful set of tiles that let you join City Map 1 tiles with City Map 2 ones. Now you can mix them to expand the combinations.
Best Regards,
Claudio Pieroni

Dear Gamer,
City Map 4 has been updated with a useful couple of tiles that let you join City Map 4 tiles with City Map 2 ones. Now you can mix them to expand the combinations. There is also a Preview included so to understand better the final result of City Map 4.

Best Regards,

Claudio Pieroni

The Grinning Skull Archives – Carnivorous Plant Complete

You can find the OP here.

Here is the finished model, I thought I would share the pics to show you how it’s turned out. With a few rocks, flock and static grass and moss, I reckon it’s a nice piece in the end!

The Grinning Skull Archives – Carniverous Plant WIP

You can find the OP here.

I was sorting through some old fishtank bits and junk from my shed a week or two ago, I was going to chuck a load of stuff, but just in case there was anything useful that I’d forgot about, I checked throught it all the same. Amongst the grotty unused bits there were some cracking bits ripe for conversion in my models and projects, this plastic ornament was just crying out for it to be made into something weird and alien!
