Well I finally managed to play a few battles in my Arena of the Planeswalkers game. I also asked other others to answer the following questions:
What did you like about the game?
What didn’t you like about the game?
Would you buy the expansions?
Are you going to make your own terrain?
How does it compare to HeroScape (where applicable)?
Have you tried using the HeroScape creatures with it?
So a few months back I participated in the Save the Day Kick-Starter because:
1) I love Super Heroes and needed a simple rule-set if I wanted to play (Champions is too complicated for some of players)
2) I wanted a game that could serve as a Gateway for my son when he’s a little older, so I could share my hobby with him
3) I only had a small handful of HeroClix to go with my Mage-Knight minis I converted for DnD, and one of the pledge levels gave access to a BUNCH of minis 😀
At any rate, during my time of corresponding with the game’s creator David Okum, I mentioned I wanted to use the rules for a Zombie Apocalypse themed game for Halloween. I think this inspired him to create his paper minis and rule-set – Armageddon Outta Here: Zombie Ruckus. Even if I wasn’t the source of inspiration, it’s still freakin’ awesome!
About a month ago I posted a review of Paper Make It’s City Streets set.
Apparently someone got my message loud and clear, because hiding in my junk folder was an announcement that City Streets 02 and 04 had been updated to connect to sets 01 and 02 respectively. Here are copies of that email:
City Map 2 has been updated with a useful set of tiles that let you join City Map 1 tiles with City Map 2 ones. Now you can mix them to expand the combinations.
Paper Make iT !
City Map 4 has been updated with a useful couple of tiles that let you join City Map 4 tiles with City Map 2 ones. Now you can mix them to expand the combinations. There is also a Preview included so to understand better the final result of City Map 4.
Paper Make iT !
Ha! You were expecting more Paper City stuff?
Not today. Today I am reviewing my initial impression of HeroScape: Re-Skinned, or as Wizards of the Coast is calling it: Magic the Gathering – Arena of the Planeswalkers.

Having printed out a bunch of Paper Make It’s City Streets, in addition to multiple free paper buildings and vehicles I’ve found around the web, I managed to go through an entire pair of XL Ink Cartridges – and those babies are expensive!
Needing a cheap alternative I decided to take a look at refill kits, and asked my lovely wife to order this kit off of Amazon:
